The National Kindergarten and Elementary College expanded it's curriculum in 1930 and became the National College of Education. In 1990, NCE became a college when the school's name changed to National-Louis University.

Scope and Contents
The materials in Boxes 1-5 consist of files created by Prof. Joseph Fischer while he chaired the IDS Department, 1994-1997, and donated by Prof. Fischer in 2008. They are supplemented by an "Introduction to the M.Ed. Field Based Program: Philosophy, Structure & Processes" (1984) and "Handbook for Term 1" (1984), donated by Prof. Fletcher DuBois in 2011.
